Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, any form of creation by the hand is an action to create what is in our mind. The artist, their belief and concepts, their abilities and weakness all become a filter in the moment of creation.
Without delay i can say, they are all one and the same, the only difference is the reference for light and the choice of cools and warms.
They can and often do differ in approach, first how they are the same, they both can be meticulous or in the moment. Now where they differ, i feel, is a much large expanse. One has the information, designed within the laws of nature, colored by the light and viewed as so by our eye, whereas the other is created in the mind, the light, the colors all from the imagination, all meaningful to the thought and creation of each stroke.
